CANMRDG organizers: CANMRDG is a collection of talks about NMR featuring keynote speakers and local spectroscopists. CANMRDG was started in 1970 as an informal meeting of academic and industrial NMR spectroscopists in the greater Chicago area to share information on best practices, special topics and to get to know each other. It was free and was held on a Saturday to avoid meeting and teaching conflicts. The two biggest conflicts were to find the best topics for the presentations and the best restaurant for a two-hour lunch. It has grown from tens of attendees to close to a hundreds over the last 50 years and has featured hundreds of talks from experience users to graduate students and post-docs as it continues its dual purpose of good science and good fellowship.
